Details of the hem facing and extended hem facing on the back of the skirt.

Right: Though the lining is secured in back, at the sides and front, it's loose. Left: A detail of the front lining "hem" and an idea of how sheer the fabric is.

Right: The front lining doesn't quite meet the hem facing. Left: The lining lifted to show the piecing of the front silk panel. The pieces are sewn selvage to selvage.

Left: A view of the placket extension from the inside. The stitching seen secures the velvet ribbon into place. Right: The lining on the right side of the skirt has come loose, giving a good view of the construction.
