A Round Gown, c. 1760-1780

Construction

The easiest way to do the en forreaupleats was on the dress form. First, I pinned the back of the dress to the finished lining. Then, it was mostly trial and error to get the pleats right.

The pinned pleats.

Early pictures of the dress, taken with the self-timer on my camera. I haven't added the cuffs yet. I like the view of the neckline without the kerchief.

And the back. I like this shot because it not only shows the back without the kerchief, but my stays are laced a little tighter and don't leave a ridge :)
