My late 1850s dress. Before you say anything, no, I don't know what that white spot is, and yes, I do know that pagoda sleeves wouldn't have been used on a regular cotton dress. I found out in the middle of making the dress. It's my first Civil War Era dress though, and I am happy with it, even though I made just about every mistake you could make, just because I was able to get it to fit!. I used the Truly Victorian 1859 Pagoda bodice pattern and skirt directions from Elizabeth Stewart Clark. The undersleeves were made without a pattern. The collar was based on an 1863 collar on one of Princess Alexandra's dresses.
The dress is worn over everything on my Mid-Nineteenth Century Undergarments Page.
The back. Yes, I know. It's a bad idea to look over your shoulder when being photographed!
