A Gable Hood

Since striped silk is nearly impossble to find--I looked for several months for some for this project--I decided to make my own.

To start, I took my silk and used tape to mark my stripes.

I measured to make sure they were even.

I then took black fabric paint and painted the silk.

I waited for it to dry, and very carefully removed the tape.

More tape removal!

I made more silk than I needed because I knew blobbing was inevitable.

I followed the directions on the fabric paint to set the dye.

I then folded the silk into the shape that I needed and was very happy to finally have striped silk :)
